Growing up, I always thought that I needed more things in my life to live a good life. I thought the same thing when I became a Christian. I thought that there were spiritual tools that I needed to acquire. Well, we have to look no further. God gave us everything we needed from the begining. It’s up to us to learn how to use it and how to use it for His Glory instead of our own personal gain. There are two important things (keep in mind not the only things) that we need to do to learn how to use our gifts and tools, graciously given by God.
1. Read the Bible
In our society, reading for enjoyment and learning is not something that is common anymore. This is our spiritual bread. We need it to live. Here is where we learn how to live the life He, Our Lord, wants us to live.
2. Prayer
We need to stay in constant contact with God. This is how we keep focus and how we let God in and lead our lives according to His will.
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. ~ 2 Peter 1:3, NLT
